DELTA Module One Preparation Course Disclaimer

Britishey Training Centre Ltd

Britishey Training Centre Ltd is a registered British company (Company No. 16463616) and a UK-approved learning provider (UKPRN: 10098455).

1. Health, Stability, and Readiness

I confirm that I am physically, emotionally, and mentally able to undertake the DELTA Module One Preparation Course. I understand that the course is academically demanding and requires sustained concentration, regular study, and independent reading outside course hours.

I also confirm that I am living and working in a stable environment that allows me to attend sessions regularly, complete course tasks, and prepare effectively for the DELTA Module One examination.

2. Nature of the Course

I understand that this is a DELTA Module One preparation course, not a general English language course and not a basic teacher-training course.

I understand that DELTA Module One focuses on advanced knowledge of English language teaching, including language systems, language skills, methodology, assessment, discourse, phonology, teaching procedures, learner problems, and ELT terminology.

I understand that the course is designed to prepare me for the DELTA Module One written examination, but that successful completion of the preparation course does not guarantee a pass in the Cambridge DELTA Module One exam.

3. Workload and Commitment

I understand that the DELTA Module One Preparation Course requires serious commitment. I will be expected to complete reading, revision, exam-style tasks, terminology review, timed practice, and independent study outside live sessions.

I understand that attendance alone is not enough to succeed, and that my progress will depend heavily on the amount and quality of work I complete between sessions.

4. Attendance

I understand that regular attendance is essential. I agree to attend all scheduled sessions punctually and to notify Britishey Training Centre in advance if I am unable to attend a session.

I understand that missed sessions may negatively affect my preparation and that Britishey Training Centre is not responsible for any gaps in my knowledge or exam readiness caused by absence, lateness, or lack of engagement.

5. Academic Level and Entry Expectations

I understand that DELTA Module One is an advanced-level professional qualification for English language teachers. I confirm that I have sufficient English language proficiency, teaching knowledge, and professional experience to cope with the demands of the course.

I understand that I may need to improve my academic writing, terminology, language analysis, and exam technique during the course.

6. Independent Study and Research

I understand that I am expected to read, research, revise, and reflect independently. Tutors will guide me, explain key areas, provide practice, and give feedback where appropriate, but I remain responsible for my own learning and exam preparation.

7. Exam Registration and External Assessment

I understand that the DELTA Module One examination is externally assessed by Cambridge English.

I understand that registration for the official DELTA Module One exam is separate from attendance on the preparation course unless explicitly stated otherwise in writing.

I understand that any exam entry fees, deadlines, identification requirements, regulations, venue arrangements, and result-release procedures are subject to Cambridge English requirements and/or the authorised exam centre’s policies.

8. Mock Exams and Feedback

I understand that the course may include mock exams, exam-style practice, timed tasks, and tutor feedback. I accept that feedback is intended to support my development and may identify areas of weakness in my knowledge, terminology, exam technique, or written accuracy.

I agree to respond to feedback professionally and use it to improve my performance.

9. Academic Integrity and Plagiarism

I understand that all work submitted during the course must be my own. Any form of plagiarism, copying, submitting another person’s work, or presenting AI-generated work as my own may be treated as academic dishonesty.

I understand that academic dishonesty may result in removal from the course without refund.

10. Use of Generative AI

Britishey Training Centre recognises that generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, and similar platforms may support learning when used appropriately.

Acceptable use may include:

  • generating revision questions;
  • clarifying terminology;
  • creating study plans;
  • suggesting areas for further reading;
  • checking understanding of concepts.

Unacceptable use includes:

  • submitting AI-generated answers as my own;
  • using AI to complete assessed or submitted course tasks without acknowledgement;
  • relying on AI instead of developing my own exam technique;
  • using AI in a way that misrepresents my ability or understanding.

I understand that AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for DELTA Module One standards, and that I remain fully responsible for checking, evaluating, and learning from any AI-assisted work.

11. Professional Conduct

I agree to maintain a professional and respectful attitude towards tutors, peers, administrative staff, and Britishey Training Centre representatives.

I understand that disruptive behaviour, repeated lack of preparation, disrespectful communication, or failure to engage professionally may result in removal from the course.

12. Digital Competence

I confirm that I have sufficient digital skills and access to the necessary technology to attend online sessions, access course materials, submit tasks, communicate with tutors, and participate fully in the course.

This includes having a reliable internet connection, a working device, and the ability to use platforms specified by Britishey Training Centre.

13. Materials and Intellectual Property

I understand that all course materials provided by Britishey Training Centre are for my personal study only.

I agree not to copy, share, distribute, sell, upload, reproduce, or use these materials for commercial purposes without written permission from Britishey Training Centre.

14. Payment, Withdrawal, and Refund Policy

I understand that course fees must be paid according to the payment terms agreed with Britishey Training Centre.

I understand that once enrolled, course fees are non-refundable, including in cases of withdrawal for personal, professional, health-related, or scheduling reasons.

I understand that failure to attend, failure to complete course tasks, or failure to sit the official exam does not entitle me to a refund.

15. Deferral Policy

A deferral may be considered only in exceptional circumstances and remains subject to Britishey Training Centre’s discretion.

Deferrals are not automatic. They may depend on the timing of the request, the candidate’s attendance, engagement, payment status, the availability of future courses, and any administrative or academic considerations.

If approved, the candidate may be transferred to a future DELTA Module One Preparation Course, subject to availability and any additional conditions set by Britishey Training Centre.

16. No Guarantee of Examination Success

I understand that Britishey Training Centre will provide preparation, guidance, input, practice, and feedback; however, my final performance in the official DELTA Module One exam depends on my own knowledge, preparation, exam technique, language awareness, and performance on the exam day.

I understand that Britishey Training Centre cannot guarantee a Pass, Merit, or Distinction in the official DELTA Module One examination.

Candidate Declaration

I have read and understood all the information above. I understand the nature, demands, policies, and expectations of the DELTA Module One Preparation Course, including the guidance on academic integrity, generative AI, attendance, workload, payment, withdrawal, deferral, and exam preparation.
